Lucy Hattenhauer focuses her practice on business and commercial litigation, as well as commercial property tax law.

Lucy was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. While double majoring in finance and real estate, she decided to minor in a more exciting subject—criminal justice. Lucy decided to attend law school at UNC-Chapel Hill. She knew she wanted trial experience early in her career, but explored other areas of law while in school to diversify her experience. Through a couple of internships with plaintiff's employment law firms and a clerkship with the Honorable Judge Whitney in the Western District of North Carolina, Lucy engaged in civil litigation.

After law school, she worked in Mecklenburg County for a year and a half at the District Attorney's Office, where she honed her trial skills, trying hundreds of cases in district court. That courtroom experience continues to inform how she approaches litigation today. Now, drawing on her background in finance and real estate, Lucy helps businesses and property owners navigate complex commercial disputes and property tax matters with practical, results-driven advocacy.
