Divorce and Family Law

Our divorce and family law team combines excellent legal services with compassion as we help our clients navigate the emotional turmoil of separation, divorce, and other family issues. We take great pride in the fact that most of our referrals come from word of mouth.

The family and matrimonial law team at Bell, Davis & Pitt is led by Robin J. Stinson, who has practiced exclusively in the area of family law and family law mediation for more than 34 years. Robin is a North Carolina State Bar board-certified specialist in family law and a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She is also a mediator certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.

When possible, we strive to resolve the majority of our clients’ family law matters without entering a courtroom. Whether by utilizing our team's negotiation and mediation expertise or engaging a neutral mediator, avoiding the courtroom can reduce legal expenses and stress, while often settling issues more expeditiously. However, when both parties are not able to come to a mutual agreement, we are fully prepared to take these matters into litigation as necessary.
