Attorneys Brad Friesen and Allison Parker will present about conflicts of interest at an upcoming meeting for the Winston-Salem Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) held on Nov. 14. Their presentation is titled "Pulled in Different Directions: Handling Conflicts of Interest When Advising Clients about Financial Planning and Charitable Giving."
The 1-hour ethics session will focus on how to identify and handle conflicts of interest that can arise when advising clients about financial planning, estate planning, and charitable giving. It will include a review of the rules applicable to lawyers, CPAs, and insurance advisors, as well as practice pointers, hypothetical examples, and cautionary tales.
This half-day, continuing education session also includes presentations on Charitable Planning with Unique Assets and CFP Board's Revised Code and Standards.
The cost to attend is $25 for FSP members and $45 for non-FSP members .
