New Tool to Help with Decision-making Options for Persons with Disabilities

American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging

The American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging has developed the PRACTICAL Tool to assist lawyers in identifying and implementing the least restrictive alternative possible when working with individuals with disabilities. Although guardianship is often necessary, the PRACTICAL Tool encourages a thoughtful analysis of whether a less drastic legal intervention may suffice under certain circumstances.  The ABA’s PRACTICAL Tool, as well as a free webinar explaining how to use the Tool, can be found here
