Winston-Salem, NC (December 8, 2014) -- Piedmont Craftsmen has recognized Bell, Davis & Pitt attorney Anne Shelburne, along with four other volunteers, for their service to the craftsmen organization in 2014. Others recognized for their service were Dinny Forbes, Pam Prior Grace, Karen Morgan, and Pat Taylor.
Honorees were presented Piedmont Craftsmen’s annual Sherpa Award, named in honor of the native Himalayan guides who command extraordinary respect for their skills in navigating treacherous terrain with incredibly heavy loads while taking their fellow explorers on adventures that involve scaling some of the world’s highest mountain peaks. The awards were presented at Piedmont Craftsmen’s annual meeting November 23, 2014.
Piedmont Craftsmen President and Chief Executive Officer Jane Doub said of these volunteer leaders, “they are the folks who are always there when we have a project or event that requires heavy lifting – both literally and figuratively.”
During her 6 years on the Board, Anne has served as Board Chair for two consecutive terms, 2013-2014; Governance/Bylaws Committee 2009-2014; 50thth Anniversary Committee 2012- 2014, Development and Fundraising Committee 2012-2014; Education Committee 2009-2012; Unexpected Art Events Committee, 2014; and as a member on other committees and events, including volunteering at the annual Piedmont Crafts Fair.
