Brent joined Bell, Davis, & Pitt as a civil litigator in 2020. Prior to that, Brent clerked for the Hon. James L. Gale of the North Carolina Business Court and was an associate in the Charlotte office of an Am Law 100 firm, where he focused on real estate finance and served as local counsel for litigation matters involving the firm’s clients.
Brent is originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He received his undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Mississippi and then worked in professional politics as a campaign manager and fundraiser for several years before obtaining a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics. He moved to North Carolina in 2014 and studied at the Duke University School of Law. He spends his time outside of the office doing genealogy research and enjoying his ever-growing collection of books sourced from local thrift stores.
